Hi There!
No matter how many times their parents tried to throw them onto a sports team, nothing stuck quite as strongly as being on the stage. At a young age, Zoe knew performance was somewhere in their blood. From screaming the radios hits atop their parents bed after a shower to the American Girl doll movies filmed on handmade sets tucked inside a closet, the acting bug was bound to bite eventually.
About Zoe...
Originally from Ocoee, Florida, Zoe grew up in a house of brothers surrounded by baseball and all things boy. In an act of rebellion, they denied the grip of a softball bat and instead insisted they'd flourish creatively. Countless amounts of polymer clay charms, original Monster High characters, and endless amounts of short stories kept them busy and happy. It wasn't until High School where things really picked up.
Zoe attended Dr. Phillips High School and was accepted into the Theatre strand of the Visual and Performing Arts Magnet after an audition session. While in middle school, musicals and improv were a fun way to pass the time, at the ripe age of 16 it started looking like this would be their life. A rigorous program set them up for the person they would be today: a hardworking, passionate actor who's imagination knows no bound. Through an abundance of theatre centered classes, Zoe fostered a love not only for performance on stage, but an appreciation of how the world backstage works, the birth of their love for writing, and the meaningful connections you make whilst swept away in it all.
Zoe is currently a Senior in the Acting Program at Shenandoah University, earning a Bachelors of Fine Arts. Although far from home, it has been deeply fulfilling to further nurture not only a general love of performance, but to really pinpoint what makes them thrive. Through class and performance opportunity, Zoe took a liking to The Bard and The Greeks, a deep passion for classic works and the history they hold. This excitement sprung from a production of Henry V where they were shown Shakespeare doesn't have to be so scary, and further nurtured during a production of Antigone where their inner 8 year old, who deeply longed to be a 'Greek Mythologist' leapt out and latched onto any and all information. Not only do these stories light them up as an actor, as a writer Zoe finds themself drawn to greek verse and finds the rhythmic method of writing beautiful. Zoe longs to create a space in theatre where the rules can be bent freely, extending beyond gender and sexuality, giving a new lens into the world of these classics and breathing new life them; whether they've reimagined or rewritten it themself.
When not on stage, Zoe longs to find the perfect Iced Mocha latte in the greater Winchester area. Coffee in hand, a good day looks like three or four thrift stores, a stroll through old town (if the weather is nice), or nestled into the corner of the very comfortable couch whilst their friends chatter away in the background. Whilst a stack of unread books calls to them, and unfinished scripts are left withering away in a google drive, Zoe finds themself happiest in life and art when they are busy and warm, surrounded by those they love.
